New member here from So California. Don't have a R* yet, but in the process of purchasing an '02 w/ 12K mile. I've been on this site doing research and I have a question regarding a recall. What does this entail? I'd like to research before I buy this. Are there any other things I need to keep an eye for? Thanks for all the help!

It's an internal transmission problem, a part that can break under certain conditions and lead to a catastrophic lock-up (bad at any speed). A dealer can check using your vin if your prospective bike has been done. Search on the forum for more details. Only affects the first few years of production. Some folks have other work done since it's already apart and thus might save on labor costs.
