The stock box didn't seem to co-operate well with a jet kit. Moderator Posts: 3508 Re:Air filter question? 5 Years, 1 Month ago   Yamahawg, Before I bought the Barons tear drop I did the poor mans BAK where I drilled 5 holes in the front of the stock air cleaner (black plastic part) then put a K&N filter, rejetted,pipes and it ran great. I did not have to change anything when I switched to the Barons tear drop. I think it was on this forum I found the info and pics to do it took me about 30min and totally free! Moderator Posts: 6997 Re:Air filter question? 5 Years, 1 Month ago   You could always TRY it. Doesn't seem like it would be any more unresticted than a BAK or something like it. Only problem you might run into is there is no place to bolt the thing to the heads with, to help stabilize the carb(which moves around some when the bike is running and the airbox is off).
