Back again 2 Years, 4 Months ago
Hi Everyone

I was deployed for a year to Afghanistan now Im back. Somehow I lost my original screen name so I had to redo a new one. Im glad to back to Road Star Clinic. I learned a lot the first time around and now Im looking forward to learning more.. Everyone here was always been extremely helpful. We starting to get some hot days here in OK and Im ready to go riding again.
I had my bike in my shed the whole year and my battery died. Rookie mistake.. Got a new battery. Now the question is this.. What else should I be doing besides doing the basic pre checks before riding? Talked to the dealer and of course they want an arm and a leg to "check" my bike and tell me what needs to be done.. Just need to know if I can do anything or just suck it up and take it to the dealer..

Thanks in advance

Well there is a way to get your old screen name back I think. I am not sure how to do it but I think Doc or Gram can. I will bet they will be talking to you soon. Glad you are back safe and sound. Thanks for your service my friend.

Welcome home! Thanks for the service you did for our country. Your bike should be fine after sitting a year. I would wash it and do a good inspection of it. An oil change wouldn't hurt. Probally the main thing it needs is to be ridden. Others will probally have more advise, maybe drain the tank and replace w/ new gas, but I would see how it runs and go from there. oh yea, maybe the tires could be warped and out of ballance.

To change your name do the following:
1) On the home page, click Profile in the User Menu on the left side of your screen.
2) Then on the Edit tab, which will be near the top left of the RSC screen, click Update Your Profile
3) And then the third item down will be your user name, which you can change to your previous one, I think. But maybe you can't because its already used. I dunno.

If you remember your original screen name then Gram or Doc should be able to reactivate it for you. You could either PM them yourself or one of us mods could ask 'em for ya.
