here is a message I received from him:
"There is a seep hole next to the fill hole. With the bike up right you fill the trans until it leaks out. I doubt that its too full cause I only put in about 1/2 quart but that is cheap and easy to check. Every thing I read says a loose belt pulley causes the leak and these bikes have a tendency to shake the belt pulley nut loose."

I'm thinking its a plug you take out fill until it runs out, then put the plug back in?

He is talking about the transfer gear case on the right side of the bike. With the bike standing straight up (rested on a jack) you take out the small plug below the big plug cap. Remove the big plug cap and fill through there until the oil comes out of the small hole.

If the leak is coming from the final drive pulley area on the left side of the bike, pull the cover off and check the pulley nut for tightness. As mentioned earlier by others, they have been known to work loose and cause the seal to leak.

If the nut is loose, and causing the leak, I will need to replace the seal, correct?
