Black Gloves Rant 2 Years, 3 Months ago
So I wore a hole in the palm of my gloves. No problem, time for a new pair. I go to the shop where I bought them and they no longer have plain black gloves.

All they have are these armored, plasticky, bulky, huge things for the sport bike crowd (freakin $75) , and these thin things with holes poked in em.

I went to 6 count em SIX different shops and couldn't find plain black gloves. I even tried 1 custom shop and a Harley dealer. Heck I even went to Lowes and Home Depot, but all they have are cowhide color work gloves, which is what I'm looking for, but in black.

So I go to a leather place and all they have are gloves with liners and gauntlet style. I ended up with the gauntlets, but gee wiz. Is it a conspericy? I belive in protection, but I'm not buying gloves with knuckles poking out, you can't just stuff those in you pocket while your walking around, and I'm not buying gloves off the internet because you can't try them on.

Is it like this in the rest of the country? I guess I'll just keep looking where ever I go. Thanks for listening to me rant.

What size do you wear? I have a pair of plain black MC gloves I don't like. I think they are large. Yours if you want them.

My local leather shop had some blackies... cheap, dyed my hands black the first couple rainstorms, but they get the job done!

Thanks for the offer Steven, but I have to try them on. Depending on who makes the glove I'm anywhere from a medium to a extra larg. Maybe I can cruise up and try them on sometime.

Co-worker/fellow rider got his from, of all places, a boating supply outfit. Shorties, padded palm and very reasonable. FWIW.

Try Wilson leather if you have one near you.

I just buy mine at Home Depot. They cost $15-$20 or so and they are black but they are not leather. They do have leather padded palms.
I did buy a pair at wally world in the shooters section of the store. They are black padded palms and mesh on the back on the hand. They are great for summer riding.
