Air cleaner removal 5 Years ago
Hey fellas,
This is probably kind of a dumb question, but you know when you clean your air filter, you take off the chrome cover, remove the black air filter housing, and then pull the housing off of that big intake tube, when you put it back together, what is the easiest way to get the housing onto that black intake tube. It is easy to put the housing on the tube first, but then you have to put those two phillips head screws back in on top and it is a pain to do when the housing is on the intake tube, any suggestions? I end up pushing the housing up against the tube, and I know it is not correctly installed. Any help would be appreciated.

I took mine apart last weekend to check the filter. Afterwards, I put the unit back together, loosened the screw holding the slider clamp (???)...hooked up the hoses, etc. and then put the box onto the intake and tightened the slider clamp. Absolutely no problem doing so. Then I re-installed the 3 back bolts (be careful not to lose the washers) and the center bolt and wiped my fingerprints off the chrome

Hope this helps.

Regards, Ted
