I went to the Speedstar (17% stiffer than stock) and stayed & stayed w/the origanial plates @ 17,000 mi. in my '00 R/S. Pushing 33,000 hard miles & absolutely no sign slipping.

Over 43,000 miles and still going strong. Thought about doing the pressure plate and springs this year.
