"NOT" Bike Bashing 2 Years, 3 Months ago
Listening to the radio today gave me a chuckle. An ad came on for a Harley dealership asking everyone to bring in their "non" Harley for a trade in. I guess they assume all "non" Harley riders are just waiting for the day to finally "trade up". I like being a "NON" kinda guy!

Maybe a t-shirt idea!

I guess that I could be lured in with extra cash and hot chicks to boot.

Yeah, the BIG trade in deal is that they will give you $500 off any new HD. I'm sorry, but any good buyer can get them to drop $500 off the price without a trade in, I'm sure.

Isn't taking $500 off the price of a Harley a little like saying you took the top off a mountain by carrying down a bucket full of rocks?

The best time to buy a HD if anyone is interested (I,m not ) is at the end of the year as the new year models are coming out. I recently have seen them drop 2 grand off the sticker of big bikes and 1000-15000of dynas. Sporties are already cheap in their eyes.I have a few friends that work at the HD dealer and they say they are hurting just like everybody else. But as far as trading in non HD bike they really do not give much for them heck they do not give much for anything,JM2C

Somebody might be able to come up with a smokin' deal on a "Non' HD by checking out the trade in at your local HD dealership. They got to get rid of the trade-ins somewhere!

They will probably sell them to a wholesaler and they will be distributed to other non HD dealers. Or sold at auction.

Sign of the times...I was at an auction yesterday and I am not sure if this powersports dealer was going out of business or not, but they brought multiple enclosed trailer loads of bike to sell. Probably about 20 bikes or so. The only problem he ran into is he forgot he was at a wholesale auction and was trying to sell everything way too high. He left the tags from the store hanging on them and he was trying to get about 500-700 less than what the retail price was. He sold one 4 wheeler! I had my eye on an 06 VStar 1100 and was the high bidder, but he countered back $1400 higher than what I bid. It's sad to see a company rep up there so frustrated after they went through all the trouble of toting all those bikes there, but he should have been a little more realistic.
