If you use a wheel brush, make sure it doesn't have a metal center!

>>> Wax ON <<<< wax off

Seriously, what I do is I just park it in a nice level spot, jack it up, I take off the windshield, the saddlebags and the seats. I will also sometimes remove the rear seat and luggage rack. Take your time, washing front to back, bottom to top.

When she's all clean, I use the leaf blower to help dry her, and microfiber cloths to get her clean and shinny. I use pledge to polish her and then I clean the parts I took off front and back prior to reinstalling them. Use a good bee's wax on leather and when your all done...ride it!

when i do a good detail job on any vehicle I will use a white compound, red if necessary on the real dull spots, scuffs and marks then a good glaze(this is a must) before waxing makes the world of difference

also to clean aluminum parts i will coat them with wd-40 let is sit over night. I then wash/dry and use Noxon 7 to clean the surface of the metal then mothers metal polish

Re:Spring bike cleaning 2 Years, 3 Months ago
it works great, especially on aluminum that has been neglected

I used to be a manager at a pep boys and we had a customer come in with an alpha romeo spider the engine was all white from oxidation i told the owner to spry it down and soak it with wd-40 he came back a week later and was very grateful had a smile ear to ear

hell the other day i took off the wheels from my 04 midnight and had my neighbor go outside and spray them down he had a perplexed look when i told him to use wd-40 it started to rain a couple of hours later and he was quite surprised to see how good they looked

even after i pressure wash the engine in my car i spray it down with wd if its real dirty i spray it down first then wash it and spray it again
