Sorry about your friend. 20 yrs is a good run. We are fortunate to have our first family dog , Jack, still with us. As he sits at my feet while I read this I am not looking forward to going thru what you are.

Sorry for your loss! I have a small plot on my property for my beloved K9's. They are all missed and remembered fondly and I always say hello when I pass their resting place.

I'm very sad to hear about your dog. Times like these are always difficult, but they will always remain in your heart. It sounds like the right decision was made. It's not an easy place to be. I've been there with many a beloved cool cat before. I am a first time dog owner, and can only imagine being in your shoes. I send you my best wishes and heart filled sympathy for your loss. Be well...

Hey Jay
To have lived 20 years, you were as good a friend for your lab, as he was for you.
Pets pick their people, as much as people pick their pets. Sounds like you two clicked.
Thoughts with you Jay.

Lost two best friends (a Black Lab and a Shepard) in the last 10 years. Rescued them both from shelters. Can't bring myself to replace them knowing I'll lose another again. Yes, it does leave a huge hole in your heart.

Hey Ultrastar
I know what your feeling. I had to put my 14 year old black lab down and my 13 year old chocolate lab two years later.
In my adult life I have "sobbed " when my father died, when my wife left and each time I put my two dogs down.
Dogs are good stuff!!

If it's not too late, I too am sorry for your loss. My black lab is 14 and 1/2, and has been battling cancer for 18 months.....She is my world (don't tell my wife), and I will be a basket case for several days when she's finally gone.... I have always felt that a man who really loves his dog, can't be a bad person..... Take care.

Sorry to hear about your loss Ultrastar. Our pets become part of our family. I have had to put down pets before and it just breaks your heart.
