pulled stock airbox, whats this? 2 Years, 3 Months ago
switching stock air box with poor mans bac with k&n, for universal K&N and I notice a wire hanging below carb, it has a female connector, just kinda hanging out under carburator. I'm thinking that when it was in the shop last time getting new manifold ect. maybe just left off, My guess is, its the carb heater wire,The bike is in a storage garage not here at house there was little light, I saw what looked like a connection on bottom of carb,I think about 1" elbow metal tube is best that I could see with limited light. My question is what the heck, did the shop just leaveit off, and does this sound like carb heater wire just loose

Well, the wire will only go on one place on the carb, so you cant mess it up. If you look enough you will see where it goes and simply plug it back in. I expected a picture. If you can pull an airbox, you can plug in a wire. If you can't see where it goes, use a womans makeup mirror. I do have a picture of the location, but I aint going to go through pages and pages of photobucket just to show you, its a pretty obvious fix. Another wire is right next to it.

It's a carb heater wire. The elbow you found is the float bowl drain. If you feel around you will find where to plug the wire into or wait until you can get more light. But you really don't need the heater so it's not hurting anything.
