Mustang seat 6 Years, 10 Months ago
I am considering getting a Mustang seat for my 2003 Road star. I was wondering if the key switch would still remove the riders seat to ckeck the oil? I trying to decide between the Mustang and the Ultimate seat. any suggestions

Thanks
Charlie

Charlie 390 the answer to your question is yes! I have had a Mustang on my roadie for 3 years. Dont have any idea how you ride but would consider buying the drivers backrest model. I made my own for the mustang sorta following directions found in the Clinic. Was a steel bending nightmare as you have to attach to passenger pillion so both seats will remove as one unit. Telling you this before you buy as seats are too expensive to change mind later.

Hey Charlie,

I have been using the Mustang with the backrest for a little over a year on my '04 M*. I rode 800 miles on Sunday and could not have without the backrest. The seat inself is more comfortable than the stock '04, which I'm told was more comfortable than the '03 seat.

My one complaint is that it moves you ahead a little. If you are taller this could be an annoyance. I have moved my floorboards ahead 3.5" and everything is cool.

If you do decide to buy, check pricing from Accessories International out of Florida. Best price I could find with good service.

Good luck.

You can't go wrong with the Mustang. I too have had mine for about 3yrs. and it is way better then the stock seat. Although I did'nt get the drivers back rest, I find it to give good support, especially if the passenger seat is installed.
