Nope, that's common, I love my pets, but they are just that, pets. (Don't tell them I said that, they might revolt)

This is Austin, we adopted him from the local Humane Shelter, he was around 8 -10 years old when we adopted him 2 years ago. Good dog, love's to just sleep. When the door bell rings, he looks at me as if to say "are you going to see who that is?"

7 years ago, a friend called and her dog passed on 1 day after giving birth to 4 terrier pups. Wanted to know if i would try to raise one and i said yes.Took him to work and used baby baby bottles and milk replacer and the little citter has been by my side since. It breaks my heart to hear about animal abuse. They just dont know what they are missing. It is nice to here you have a new buddy. Bofish

Geeze, you guys... I swear...!

I read all the posts about the outreach that everyone has done with the dog adoptions and rescue... And, I have to say... That's a great thing...

I've always been a supporter of the local animal shelters and made sure to send something (even in these tough times... I've been going to my thrift stores and buying towels and blankets, then take them over to the shelter...)

Well, between reading what you guys wrote and no longer being able to stand on the sidelines...
I did it!
I adopted a dog from a county pound near where I do some occasional work...
(They are NOT a "No Kill" shelter... and this guy was getting near the end of the list...)

So, whether or not you all had an influence on my decision... (which I'm sure you probably did...)
Thanks!
I got a great dog... AND saved his life...

So many "aaaawwwww's" after seeing the many pooches here. We got both our our last dogs from shelters and would not hesitate to get another from there. However getting our daughter back on her feet (literally) is a priority right now. Our grandson would love a dog, as would we, but it wouldn't fit the plan right now.
