Removing Tins 2 Years, 2 Months ago
Just received the new Dunlop Cruisemax front tire in the mail. Got about 11,000 miles on the original Dunlop D404. I am going to remove the front tire tomorrow and take it down to have the new tire put on. Know how to get it off but was wondering about removing the pie tins. Played with one the other day and they were not coming off easily with the Alan wrench. Any ideas on removing them???
Thanks

There are plenty here who've removed them, but I haven't yet. They might be secured with LocTite (but I'm not sure). If you have a pencil torch of some kind you might want to heat one of the bolts a little and see if it turns more easily. Others will chime in dmont000.

If you have a quality metric allen socket hit it with the impact wrench and those bolts will pop. Yes they were put in with loctite. I have removed the tins on both my R*'s.

key words are "impact wrench" Doesn't matter if it's float bowl screws or drive pulley...... gotta have an impact wrench, could be electric, air or cordless or all three.
