I went with a backrest pad from Ultimate. Had the Yamaha star stitched in it too. A little pricey, but my wife loves it. Nothing like a happy wife.

I think that what your looking for, you could get done at an upolstery shop by changing the shape of the foam pad.

I have tried a bunch of different ways to adjust that sissy bar. Angle is OK but its too far back in placement on the bike. I like the angle as it somewhat mimic the front end angle, they tend to look a bit odd to me if they are upright. I like the way its made and I had a custom pad made for mine, its is shaped to match the sissy bar. Not the stock square pad on a pointy sissy bar. Unless you want to change out the mounting to get it further forward you are stuck as am I. I mocked up some different mounting and then you have to change the bar anyway. If you move the mounting further forward it roates the angle the sissy bar is at and it looks awkward.

What about some kind of slip over pad that can be used only when there is a passenger. A 2nd pad the same shape as the one you have with some straps or some other mounting method would do the trick. Just an idea.

Yea it will crack, and it is HARD as all get out! I sacrificed a stock backrest and made a trunk holder out of it, trust me when I say I have no idea what grade metal that is, but it's like a grade 8 bolt!

I also went with Ultimate seat. She loved it. But what someone suggests here about an add on pad is good, or get local interior shop to pad it up to her specs.

If you just need the pad strait up and down just shim the top screw on the pad did mine @ 3/4" with know problems if you need/want the whole back rest forward your local welding shop can fix you right up and Even build you one to your specs. but as it's been said you will have to paint or send out for chrome.
