You never really know the quality of the people around you until something like this happens. This forum has some of the most wonderful people in the world. The offers for help, parts and concern for my well being is overwheming. The greatist guys ride R*'s bar none.

Hi Curt, we'll all be watching how your communication with the insurance company turns out. Typically, they offer significantly less than real value. To negotiate with them, and they'll probably lead you to believe that negotiation isn't even an option, you should look for custom Roadies similar to yours that are up for sale. Do some searching for the nice ones that are currently for sale and when you get low-balled, share with them the listings (worldwide, if necessary) that indicate value. The more custom parts on your bike, the lower the value..... unless you've insured each upgrade individually and reported each to your insurance carrier as they've been added. They may even make the point that customized or changed bikes aren't even covered because you changed them. I think you may be on thin ice here so be careful, my friend.

I truly hope that I am wrong and just too worrisome, but I've had some experience that leads me to believe that you're at risk. Best of luck,

just glad your ok Curt, that's all that matters and gives ya time to put one back together.
My wife got 11,000 for my 06' when I was in the hospital, I would have wanted them to give me a buy back price would have given me something to do all winter.. but I used that guilt to get her to let me get another one... only thing is it's the stratoliner might have to switch forum's not...know this is totalled...
and all the lights still worked..lol..

Emu I have a bell and I think it worked just great as I walked away. Ya can't ask for much more than that from a crash like I had. People still can't beleave I am alive. The guys at the dealership after seeing the bike and the crash site couldn't beleave it.

Glad to see everything is working out for you. If you buy the old one back, you can switch over everything thats not damaged & save a ton on chrome.

i know its not the way you planned for things but you have wanted a project. whats better than getting a new bike to ride and an old loved one to redo !!!!!
