My 100th Post! - 08-10 Roadie Owners 2 Years, 2 Months ago
Well, this is my 100th post on RSC. It has taken me a while to reach this personal milestone, as I don't really want to post to build a post count. We have members here that reached a post count of 100 in 48 hrs... Me I'm not your iron knuckle (or iron butt rider) poster, But I am on RSC a minimum of 3 hours a day, and all you guys are great? I love reading and learning. I have made serious mods to my bike, and very proud of how she looks and rides.

So when I went out and bought my bike last May, I was attracted to the 08 because of the FI, I know most of your a carb lovers... But I have to say that I have not found a single reason to want to mess with anything with my engine (except that EFM auto clutch - and that is really not engine).

So the only thing I really would like to change is when the rev limiter kicks in. I think it kicks in too quick especially in 2nd and 3rd gear.

What I would like to know is the rest of the FI owners.... what have you done to your engines? Or are they just so bullet proof that we just put a BAK and Pipes on them and call it a day.

Hopefully the rain will stop here in GA soon... I know how to make it stop...and that would be to go home and pull my clutch out and ship it to EFM for the upgrade.

Ouch!!! I just had a major brain surge.....

So specifically to all the FI owners:

- have you made performance mods to your bike?

- has anybody looked at FI Warriors to see if we can gain any performance mods from their FI setups?

Thanks, it has been a "Wonderful 100th PostDay!"

Actually, my 53rd birthday is Sat, 13 Mar....

You've outdone me Darn. Does that mean you're more "talkative"?

Hey bogeydoctor, congrats! The way it works, though, is you're supposed to send Doc the beer for safe-keeping. He stockpiles it for ya until you hit 1000, then he drinks it.

Hey it looks like another Utah rider! I was just in St. George last week. I live in Sandy. Glad to know there are others in the same region!

Thanks for the information Tom. I am assuming your name is Tom. Do you ever go on rides with any others from the region?

Thanks, Richard

Yup, it's Tom. No, I haven't gone on any rides with a Utah group Richard. Everyone's pretty well spread out. My wife hasn't been well so I haven't ventured very far this past year.

Happy Birthday! I've had my '08 since aug. of 08. K&N/Speedstar BAK, Speedstar Dragster long pipes and disabled the AIS. That's all I've found necessary on the engine. It runs great. From Dyno readouts I've seen she reaches her max output before the limiter kicks in and after riding her a while and getting used to what she sounds and feels like at max, I'm OK with the limter as it is. I am totally pleased with the EFI and everything else about the motor and have no plans to do anything else to it. After owning several bikes (all of them carb.) I purposefully waited and bought the '08 for the EFI and it was one of my 'rare' good choices. Enjoy!
