Looks like maybe it was registered in Texas and got moved to CA. Barstow is a giant center for Marines out in the Mojave Desert so could be a Marine that owns it. The Venture you mentioned Jade was the Venture Royale (1st Generation), made from '81 to '93. I had an '86 for a couple of years. Then the RS came out in '96 (2nd Generation) as a basic cruiser, then morphed into a Tour Deluxe, then the RS Venture model came out in '99. They are great bikes like the Road Star is. With pipes they sound just like a small block v-eight with a set of glass packs.
