Windows 7 is very nice. Stability of Windows XP and the visuals of Vista.
If you were a tinkerer in Windows XP, then there might be a slight learning curve to find where the items have moved. General/everyday users should be ok. IE is still IE and Windows is still pretty much the same. Vista users the transition should be seamless.

I certainly am not a computer (laptop or netbook) expert, but I do know netbooks also come with Intel processors. We just bought a Toshiba netbook with the Intel Intel/Atom processor. I was told we have 30 days to return the item if it did not meet our needs. So far it has exceeded my expectations......works great with all the programs I generally use, no heat issues despite being used on my lap, no issues connecting to WiFi, etc. I don't intent to use the netbook as a replacement for my desktop, but it looks like the netbook will be a great travel partner.
Any rate, anyone know what kind of oil I should use in my R*.......

Then netbook is a really nice little travel computer, the Atom Processor is pretty good, but lacks on L2 Cache, so the longer you have it, the slower it will get, unless you clear the cache from time to time. Regular maintenance on a computer is just as important as regular maintenance on you bike, car, truck, washer/dryer, fridge....ect...
Okay Darn, your response made me have to go out and figure out what L2 Cache is all about so I could understand your comment. I now have a fairly good idea what L1, 2 and even 3 Cache is all about. I also tried (operative word here is "tried" ) to determine how you clear L2 Cache. I understand how to clear cookies, browser history, etc.; however, the information I found on clearing L2 Cache made it seem technically difficult and potentially harmful to a computer if a person doesn't know how to do it correctly. Is there a simple way to clear L2 Cache?

Probably not, who would buy a bike with 112k miles anyway. and really what would I get for it, and how long would that bit of money last without a job. and it's the only thing that has kept me out of a depression. considering everything I am going thru. Shoot, had to sell a car a few yrs back, when the economy was good, that took 6 months, and the car was in excellent shape as well, and an avg of 8k miles a yr on it, took 2k less than value, and not dealer retail value, owner value. they sure got one heck of a great deal.

Toshiba Netbook
Had that one for a week. It's a nice netbook but I find the 10" (1024x600) screens too small .... it means a lot of scrolling when surfing. I'm now looking at the Asus 1021N ... has a 12" screen. (1366x768).
