If it's MSF, it's a very good course... And they supply the bikes! I wish I had pictures of me on my awesome steel steed during the course...I think it was a Nighthawk 250 or something like that. I looked like a circus bear on a tricycle.

Re:What a lucky day!!!! 2 Years, 2 Months ago
i got permit in may and went out & bought my first street bike, this R*, was like i rode it all my life. the guy didn't know when i looked at it that i had only ridden dirt bikes, and 30yrs ago at that and let me take it down the culdesac (turnaround loop dead end street), and back.
well he delivered it to me and i had a plate for it the next day, well the class you mentioned by june was booked till sept. so i got an appt for the road test in 3 weeks, so i took it and it was a breeze.

so just get the permit and do it. you donneed no stinkin classes, they are for people that have either never ridden or are afraid of taking control of a machine.

I disagree about the classes I learned some very good lessons there. I have 2 friends I ride with who are MSF instructors. If you haven't ridden a street bike before the class is a very good source. They don't teach you how to ride they teach you how to keep the shiny side up and stay alive IMHO
I gonna take the advanced course soon.

PS: it also can lower your insurance rates

I'm a proponent of the MSF course. They teach you some very basic, useful, and important things about riding a bike, safely. Plus, you get to ride their little bikes and you can test out for your endorsement at the end of the class, how convenient.

My first experience on a motorcycle (Vulcan 1500) had me at a T intersection in a residential area. As I pulled away from the stop sign, I rode across the street into the neighbors yard, as they were coming outside. I regained control and crossed back to where I was supposed to be and went about the rest of my short ride asking my self WTF am I doing? and trying not to look in my rear view mirror to see the laughter from those who saw what just happened. Anyways, that scenario could have been avoided had I known some of the simple tips for riding a motor technically the right way.

Here in Florida you don't have a choice. The only way to get the endorsement it to take the class!

wait, so you dont have a license to ride your motorcycle?? why not?

how long have you been riding like that?

When i did it, i had my permit for a year then took my skills test instead of the classes for my license.

dang, you got lucky

In Wisconsin, you have class A,B,C = Commercial. Class D = Auto. Class M = Motorcycle. Class S = School bus. I'm guessing that M1 is motorcycle with the 1 being a designation for different categories.
