What do u guys think bout powdercoating tank and fenders? talked to a powdercoater today and he gave me a real good price to do satin black. i know lots of people powdercoat parts, couldnt remember if anyone has done tank and fenders . thanks.

It's funny I was wondering the same thing. I have never seen or heard of it done either.

yea. this guy said a guy came to him wanting the satin black so he got it for him, then the guy backed out. he told me that since he got stuck with it, he would do it for $250. i thought that was pretty good. i just wonder if satin powdercoat lookes as good as satin paint.

My nephew has a powdercoating business and has done multiple bikes...they have looked great.

It should look the same. I was a little concerned about the heat of the ovens. Has he done any before?

I get alot of my parts(ornamental ironwork) powder coated. While the finishes are very cool & durable, there is noticable orange peel in it. It's fine for my work, I don't know if you'd want that on your bike

thanks ironman. i dont know that much about paint but do u think the orange peel would be as noticeable in a duller finish like satin black?

I don't think it would be as compared to a high gloss, might be kinda' cool w/ alittle texture
