Detail between washes? 2 Years, 2 Months ago
|
|
What is everyones favorite detail products to keep the Roadie looking good between washes? I bought a product last fall at a mc show called BUGSLIDE. This stuff works awesome. They have a website at www.bugslide.com incase anyone wants to check it out. You mist a little on a microfiber cloth and just polish away. It does great removing bugs from windshield and anywhere else they collect. I use it on everything from the leather to paint to chrome. Everything. Excellent at not streaking! The website says that it will bead water like wax. It does to an extent but will rinse off pretty easily. All in all it's great stuff and a little really does go a long way. I bought a 4 ounce bottle and have used it alot since I bought it and still probably have half a bottle left. Just wondering what everyone else uses and their opinion on it.
I am not in any way affiliated with bugslide. Just giving my personal experience and opinion on it.
Ok guys and gals let's hear your thoughts on the subject.

Wash with simple green and a mitt, in betweens are either with purple slice (not often) or pledge. Usually just washing though, because in between its not dirty enough to need it and I'm too busy riding

Is the pledge safe to use on paint and leather? Here in the warmer months you have to keep the bugs wiped off between washes or you wouldn't be able to see thru the windshield. Anything I should watch for if I tried detailing with the pledge?

I used it for everything but the seat (for obvious reasons) and the leather bags.
Just spray on and wipe around. It does not really wipe off but dries on the surface and leaves a slight haze which can be wiped off with a dry cloth.
It's good on the windshield as the bug juice slides off easier.
Use unscented if you can. Don't use lemon ... the bees seem to like that scent.

Is the pledge bad for leather? Make the seat to slick?
