new exhaust help 2 Years, 2 Months ago
I know most people say that exhaust is a person choice. But ill ask anyway. Right now i have a 2001 roady with the tour deluxe hard bags on it. The reason i say this is becouse the stock exhaust will not fit back on it now. Anyway, I have the bub boom can on her now. But my kids are getting big enough to ride on the bike now. but complain its way to loud. I want to change the pipes, I love the way the 2into1's look. Would the vance and hine pro or cobra pro hp be any quieter. Or would i be better of going with a long pipe with a quite baffle in them. I have tried listening to sound bites. But cant determin how loud the pipes are going to be off the pc. Thanks for any feed back.

The Yamaha bags should fit with the stock exhaust. Were the correct factory bag mounts used. Should all work together. From what I have seen around and heard, Most aftermarket exhaust systems are louder than stock, some more than others.

I ended up using the roadstar brackets and the royalstar tour delux bags. The brackets i ended up dropping them 2-1/4 inches to give it a slamed look. I did try to put the stock pipes on but the will not fit with the hard bag setup. their roughly about and inch above the axle bolt bolt.

OK, That explains the Non-Fit issue. Might be tough to find the right exhaust. I would think the route to go is with the exhaust of choice and then drop the bags to fit. Good luck and hope it all works out.
