Finally found me fender.. now ???'s 2 Years, 2 Months ago
hey there everybody,

ive been looking for a rear fender forever and i think this is the one for me:

http://www.arlenness.com/p-605-7-ness-tail-dragger-rear-fender-trimmed.aspx

My question is since this is listed as a harley fender what kind of fitment issues am i looking at and will i be able to use the factory subframe?

or anything else i'm not considering or can't foresee?

I notice it comes in 3 different widths. Measure your stock fender get the one closest to that size. You will want to use your sub-frame and you will need to make the necessary cut outs. Anything is possible if your willing to do some fab work and this may include some fiberglass work before it's all said & done.

Have you checked out custom chrome?

as for fitment: to use your subframe you'll have to cut a slot and drill 2 holes. The subframe is 8 3/4" wide.

might check out SS custom cycles. They have similar looking fenders if you want another option.

With custom chrome, are those brand specific that don't need a lot of modding to fit? Is there a tech article here that can guide me through a fitting?

Also, since the sub is 8 3/4 would the 9 inch ness be the way to go?

I have several fenders that are 8 inch and they work just fine with the sub frame. What your going to find is that no matter what fender you get you are going to have to do some fab work. That is a very expensive fender I got my tail dragger for $40 on ebay. Just do a search for fiberglass motorcycle fenders and you will have tons of cheap ones to look at. You can go to my site and look at the ones I've gotten the $40 one was the most expensive one.

I would suggest you take your current fender off so you have idea of what you'll be in for.
