Put HD Beach bars on my 06 Roadie . What do you use to fill the ends . AND I might need longer cables and brake hose ?????????? Seems to be stretching everything just a tad

You can buy iron or steel stock, cut to length and insert inside the bar. I tack welded mine just like the stock ones.
You can use lead shot.
You can buy flexible lead bar weights.

What about taking the threaded ones out of the stock bars and plug welding them and using the original weights ? Do you reallt need the weight ?

Sure, you can do that.
Without the weights the bars may buzz more. Try them out first and see how you like them before going to the trouble.

Took the steel rods out and welded them into the new bars . worked out great . what a difference . like a hole new bike . The only thing I did do was cut 2 1/8 " off the H/D bars to relax my cables and brake hose . But that project is done and all is well in roadieville once again .

Post edited by: daywalker, at: 2007/05/13 17:36

I installed beach bars on mine. Too cool! Completely changed the look--gives them a great low profile look. Kinda looks like an old Indian.
Anyhow, I didn't put weights in my bars. They vibrate no more than before when I had stock bars. I agree, Doc. I'd say try them before going through the trouble.

Any of you guys have pics to share of these beach bars? Are beach bars standard size or do they come in a variety. What did you guys use?

I bought Barons Nostalgia bars for $80 from Phat Performance and I love them relaxed my arms a bit and put the grips in a comfortable position you can use the stock cables but they were a tad too tight for my liking to used the excuse to upgrade to SS 2" over stock. I will never go back.
