You have to do more than trim the black knob.

Do a search!
Chrome choke knob cover
Found it! Thanks Musky! And Doc.

Yea makcap, there is another cure! So that was my problem, I took it off and no poof today and run great and better MPG. So I have to do what is instructed! Glue is holding carb on Ben Herr so far.

And Doc, He pre planned it, he was just messing with me recently how good a MPG he was getting with the 42, rubbing it in by Text and Phone.

If you guys are just giving each other a hard time or not, I had no idea that stupid chrome knob had just made the choke knob trim useless, went out and checked after reading about the counter sink on the chrome knob and my bike REALLY needed it to be trimmed/counter sunk/ground. I am really hoping this increases my mileage, really tired of messing with the carb, I also wonder how many changes I will have to undo now that this might have been the problem all along. Anyway, thanks to the RSC again, can't say enough good about this group of people, now if the crappy rain with hail will just stop I can go test and see where I am at now.

DANG!!!! Now more decisions, ordered a 170 main jet before I read and did the chrome knob fix, I just did the counter sink on the choke knob tonight (just a bit of hard learned advice, don't hold it in your hand and dremel the bevel in it, it gets hot REALLY FAST even wearing insulated leather gloves, but anyway) and have not ridden the bike yet, after I get it back on I went out and checked the mail and the dang 170 is in the mail, so now my strange little mind is wondering do I ride and see what I am getting without putting the new jet in or go ahead and put it in and see where I am at, leaning towards riding/testing without putting the new jet in, one change at a time? Please offer any input, thinking hurts my head, not to mention, usually gets me in trouble

Yes ... giving each other a hard time ....

There are a lot of things that can be done so it's difficult to tell folks what they should be doing until the topic comes up and the .... "Oh Yea, did you .... "

If you have a Mikuni 175 in your carb then I could say change it out to the Mikuni 170. It's usually too rich, as is a 170 normally.

To get a better handle on the correct main to us you should do the WOT test.

But you are correct ,.. when tweaking the carb you should make only one change at a time.
