Re:Driver Backrest 3 Years, 1 Month ago
I have a friend who had a Suzuki and bought this back rest and was VERY HAPPY with it, he no longer has the bike so I can't look at it now, and he is still in the Navy on deployment so can't even talk to him about it, so I am not sure if you could use it with just the driver seat solo, but what I do remember about it, it was a quality back rest and he was happy with it. Sorry I do not have better information, but the best I can do right at the moment guys.

You can`t go wrong for $90 + $25 shipping in my opinion. They are custom made at his shop and shipped in about a week. I have mine here and sure it`s not real leather but it is good quality marine vinyl and it looks great!

I just installed my backrest from Firehouse Customs, An Ebay seller and it is nice. I Got the studded version which is the genuine Yamaha Deluxe pad(which matches my passenger sissy bar pad)with the metal bracket that installs onto the passenger seat mount front bolt. Very simple and functional and is quite comfortable so far. It's visible in my sig pic.

Re:Driver Backrest 3 Years, 1 Month ago
I bought one from the Grasshopper guy last year. It was only $45 last year + $25 for shipping. Over the winter the studs started rusting(under the cover), plus it was just average for the build. Even though it was sub-par it makes me want to have one now. Who has one for sale, let me know...jimmiesblue68@yahoo.com

Does anyone know if someone offers a drivers backrest with a
pocket on the back. Would be perfect for the wife to set her
ipod in and plug into our autocomm.
Thanks

Re:Driver Backrest 3 Years, 1 Month ago
After seeing drivers back rests on here I made my own. Took off driver seat and saw how passenger seat is bolted. Removed that bolt and saw the bracket, that's mounted to the fender, had a slot. Bought small length of steel from home depot (under $10). Cut it to length. slotted both ends, bent into L shape and slid one end through passenger seat bracket then dropped bolt back down and tightened. To the other end I mounted a matching yami sissy bar pad I found on e-bay for under $50 bucks. Best accessary yet. Don't know how I took those long trips without it. One dis-advantage is, it is not a quick release / remove type setup. So consider that.

If you look under the passenger seat, right at the front there are two bolts that hold the grab strap on the seat, you can make a bracket from there, then the whole thing comes off with the passenger seat and it doesn't get in the way off anything.works real good.

you can probably go to a canvase place that does boat tops and canopies and I`m sure they can sew a pocket on the back for you easy enough. You have a good idea there, maybe you should design your own and make some $$$.
