fuel pump 2 Years, 2 Months ago
guys, i went for a ride yesterday and the bike was running super, all of a sudden it died. i came to notice that the oil pump aint working. after a few investigatins i found out the platium connector in the bottom of the pump is stuck, which took a screw to loosen in and here you go the bike started running again. the question is do i need to replace the pump?

Please Splain it, I am confused??? Ok I know you ment the fuel pump. Everything electical depends on a good connection. Our bikes do not have weather tight connectors so corrosion is our enemy and creeps up on us at the most un-opertune times. Makes us better road side mechanics, not that we want to be in that situation when the bike is inop we have to rise to the issue at hand and persivier if possible. Part of life on the road some times. Happens in cars, trucks etc.

well i accepted the fact that something wrong happened to my bike, but still feeling bad that after that good ride i got to be a passenger on my friend's intruder heading back home after my bike died . i am still confused if i should replace it or not ? all i found on e bay is "used" pumps.

If you decide to keep a pump you should ask they guys around here. Someone might give you a good deal on one. I know there are many that have removed them. I looked it up at South Seattle Sports and new they were $122.00

Yea if your bike never pukes, for $40 there is your fix. Use dielectric grease on the connectors when working on your bike.

See Puking Carb.
