I really noticed a HUGE difference in the firmer progressive suspension on the front. You can upgrade your oil to a heavier weight oil I think I went with 20w I just looked at the stock weight oil and went a size heavier. do a search I'm sure I posted on here about it.

I lowered mine the same way as Paul. It was cheap, so it fit my budget nicely and gave me the look I was after.

Here is a way you can lower your forks for almost free. It is what I did and although someday I might get a set of progressive springs, the forks work great with the stock springs. I used some 3/4 schedule 80 couplings from Lowes. Couple of bucks each. You have to trim off some nubs on the outside, but it was an easy mod.

Hey just pondering the idea of lowering the front end of my R* using the "Midnight Lightning" website's procedure w/ the spacers. Those of you who did it this way, any issues w/ the ride afterwards? Also what oil did you upgrade to & what amount did you use? Also i'm a little hesitant in cutting my springs. I guess if I F-up I can just upgrade to the Progressive springs! After lowering, did you have any issues scraping floorboards? I scrape my pipes already, so I guess it wouldn't matter if i'm scraping boards too... Any info would be great...Thanks!

No issues with the ride, 10W Amsoil, half the jug in each fork. Scrape he boards now, but never the pipes, but I scraped the boards before lowering the front.

Lowering the front without doing the rear makes the bike less stable. Bigflip, what is the make of tag holder you are using? It looks cleaner than any I've seen.

I actually made it using flat aluminum stock I got from Home Depot. Then I just got a cheap aluminum license frame from Autozone and bent it to fit. I used the existing bolt holes from the rear signal bar I removed when I went to the integrated tail light

Since couldn't ride this morning due to weather. I lowered the front end of my bike w/ the spacers. It was pretty easy to do & the price was right! Got about a 2" drop, I like it cause I don't feel like i'm leaning back anymore since the 21" raised the front a bit. The ride is firmer that stock, but not harsh. Here's a pic of the end result.

Coolness does come with a price though...On the test ride I was making a left turn & hit a dip in the road. My fender scraped a bolt on my rear master cylinder & put a nice gouge in the paint. My master cylinder sticks out due to the brackets moving my floorboards forward 3". Yeah some choice words were said on the side of the road!! Sprayed some clear paint on it so it won't rust...well looks like i'll have to fab a bracket to move that master cylinder back...
