Paint match for the Limited Pearl White 3 Years, 2 Months ago
After 10 years of riding in 5 degree temps, on my daily 60 mile commute to and from work, I've finally broke down and decided to add a Bat-wing to to my 2000 Limited. Found a new one on eBay that is coming to me primed so I need to match up the color. I tried to find some information and found the Color-rite codes but I don't want to pay their price. I know there's some of the other 1500 Limited riders that have had the same issue and was wondering if they had found another paint manufacturer out there. I've been sucking up the knowledge and tips that you all provide on this site and know that this is a great resource to come to. I've have painted my own vehicles before and have had others paint for me and I am not satisfied with their work. I guess I'm to picky(and if I make the mistake there's no one to blame but me ). I've found out that the 2000 pearl is different than the later models. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Yeah... Sometimes I looked like one too. It's the gas prices. Blame it on them. Got sick of spending $100 every two days to fill up the truck!

I bought some good gauntlets for $65 back in the 70's and they have been doing the job ever since. I have never found another pair that even comes close to doing the job.

I put the Reckless batwing on mine. A lot better wind protection than the windshield! If you know a good paint and body shop they can match that paint!! Mine is the pearl red and pearl white 99, and he matched the red perfectly, and charged me $100 total to paint it...He says he can match the white also... Of course he is good friend.. I just had him paint it all red because I intend to strip the bike and repaint it all red with black scallops next winter... good luck with the fairing I think you are really going to like it!!!

That makes me feel better. I'm getting tired of the wind blowing out of the south so hard. The 75mph feels like 150mph. I work in Missouri and have to wear a helmet for the 300 feet that I travel to get there and because there is no place to carry it I wear it all the way from home. Even with the full-faced I get a lot of wind whipping of the neck. Drives me NUTS!

That is the one thing that I noticed is it stops the buffeting around your head, but I also have the lowers on mine... I can wear a baseball cap in these 20 to 30 mph Oklahoma winds...I have a 10 inch windscreen, and also a 5 inch. The 10 gives you a little more protection but, the 5 looks better!!

The Red and White pearl is awesome. I saw that the other day. It is the colors I was wanting to paint my truck but the Red Pearl was way to expensive.
