Thanks Bud,
That's what I was looking for.
I think I'll pull the trigger on the trees.
are you happy with the Barons quality or would you go with someone else?
I always find out about the other guy after I've spent my $$.

hey doc
I'm really interested in moving my seat back
but the way the rear fender is attached limits what I can do stock.
I've looked at your website, but I just can't see what you did in the frame chop section.
do you have more pics or can you describe in more detail?
thanks

these trees were on my bike when i bought it. its the look i had been looking for. it handles great, just a little more room for tight turns. the original owner told me these are 7.5* trees.

oh yeah, and he said 2" over.

Few caveats you should know about the A frame chop.

- Not easy to return to stock configuration but can be done.
- You must be careful not to lower the fender too much as there will be issues with it bottoming out. My fender sits 3" above the tire ... 1/2" too low.
- If you ride two up all the time, don't do it. It's not worth the trouble as you can't lower the fender much.
- It slightly changes the centre of gravity when riding two up.
- You must get a smaller battery which will reduce your CCA (CCA is not relevant unless you're riding your bike below freezing), which may impact starting.

But ...

- It does give you a couple of extra inches.
- You can retain all stock parts (except battery).
- Bike looks essentially stock (except for gap between seat and tank)

What I did was remove a wedge shape (still have the piece so can take a pic when I get home) from the base of the A frame and then bent the A frame legs backwards and welded it up. Very strong. Hardest part is getting both sides of the A frame lined up evenly.

HEY BLUEBEAST,

DIDN'T MEAN TO PUT YOU OFF FOR SO LONG...HAVEN'T BEEN ON THE FORUM FOR A FEW DAYS.

THE BARON'S TRIPLE TREE IS OF VERY GOOD QUALITY. ITS FAIRLY EASY TO INSTALL & THE INSTRUCTIONS ARE EASY TO FOLLOW.

IT WILL LOWER THE BIKE A BIT SO YOU MIGHT WANT TO LOWER THE REAR OR RAISE THE FRONT WITH LONGER DOWN TUBES. ENJOY!!
