Tire Wear 2 Years ago
I was just wondering, what is the cost of a tire change at the tire shop? because what i went through, it might be worth the money.
Anybody know what caused this tire to wear this way?

I called every dealer in Northern Utah and the cheapest change with the wheels still on the bike, and using my tires, was $110.00, front and rear.
So I took them off myself and took them in and had them mounted and balanced for about $40.00. I'll do it myself next time. Time was more important than money this instance.

Wouldn't that cause the left side to wear?

Last tire I had put on, it cost me $90 shop labor, plus the cost of the tire.

Re:Tire Wear 2 Years ago
I don't know but it seems that an alignment problem to the left or right would have scrubbed rubber off the center of the tire. On a car tire what you have would probably be diagnosed as a camber problem which would mean the tire is tilted too far in or out. Doesn't seem like that would be possible on the bike unless something is bent.

The only other thing I can think of is a broken belt which can cause all kinds of odd tire wear. You might want to send the picture to Metzler and see what they think. Usually the manufacturers are really interested when something odd happens to one of their tires. At least Continental was when I had some problems with their tire.
