Re:Age 3 Years ago
54yrs old, started rinding bikes in trails @ 12yrs old on a Kawi 100cc,but was riding mini bikes from 10-12yrs old.

With rding trail bikes for 4 yrs prior to hitting the road i was already learning how to wrenc bikes before i hit the road, was already doing motor rebuilds clutch chaqnges etc before i was 16 yrs old.

Then i hit the road in 1972 & have been riding every yr since 72 with 38+ yrs of street riding under my belt at this point, also hit the road with muscle cars too at the same time, loved power & speed!!!!!!/LOL!!!!!!

Had many bikes over the yrs with mult kawi h1 triple cyl 500's & 1 h2 750 along with 2 kawi 900's and still have a 76 76 kawi 900 and still have a kawi kz1000 i bought new in 1977 which has been on the road & ridden every yr since i bought it new and still ride to this day.

So go for it at 62 yrs old, just be carefull and dont take chances like you maybe would have done at 30-40 nyrs old when you had quicker reaction times are better able to judge tight situations . Also be mindfull there is a lot more traffic these days & many drivers are a lot more agressive in thier driving then yrs ago when you used to rid . You have be on top of whats going on arround you at all times and never expect the right of way evcen when your supposed to get it.

Scott

Re:Age 3 Years ago
Looks like Im one of the young ones around here ... Iam 40 and I started riding when I was 18... My mom didnt like nor wanted any of us on a motorcycle... Now, her and my dad own a Venture, go figure... But, I have a lotta miles under my butt and a few crashes while in the learning stages... Got smart after the 3rd one and started watchin out for my own ass instead of everyone elses... A school bus hittin ya broad side will do that to ya... if ya live like I did...

Re:Age 3 Years ago
I'll be 61 in September. Got my first bike in 1971 while in Navy Crypto Tech school in Pensacola, FL. It was a 175 Bridgestone. Don't know what year it was but it had been passed on from sailor-to-sailor god only knows how many times before I got it. Another sailor taught me how to ride it in a gravel bank. I remember falling off it...alot. I imagine it's razor blades now.....maybe part of some ship. My present '05 Road Star is the a first Yamaha I ever owned. I love it and plan on ridin' it until it's time for The Big Dirt Nap, or until I can't climb aboard no mo'
