Rear Fender Clean Up, need Ideas!! 2 Years ago
Hey all,
I'm now looking to clean up my stock rear fender. I just bought some bullet lights to replace the stock 'moustache'. I'm thinking about doing a side mount license plate, but don't want all of the holes for the wires or bolts hanging out there. Do any of you know of any cool looking chrome plates that would fit there? Or can you recommend a lay down license plate tat would cover them? If not I can mock something up.

I'm also looking into a LED brake light; can anyone recommend a good one for a 2000? I want something that looks classic or old school, maybe a tombstone, but throw me your ideas.

Thanks!

I knew I liked you, slothy...

One of the cleanest ways is to relocate the signals and plate and then fill in the holes (welded). If you're into a decent project, you can probably find 2004-up fenders on Ebay from $25.00 - $100.00. The LED tail light brings the turn signals, brake light and running light into one unit. I found one on Ebay new for <$10.00 I don't know if they make one for <2004, though. Clear Alternatives is the manufacturer. A used fender may come with a stock one if you want to do something else for turning signals.

They also make plastic plugs that you can paint to match your bike, if you want an easy project.

Either way cleans it up back there.

Did you say "ass packed"?

I hear ya. Can't see re-drilling the fender on mine. But, I've been considering adding a brake flash module. Wouldn't want to get "ass packed"...

Radiantz.com sells a nice led board tail light for the stock bucket. pugs right into the bulb socket. takes two seconds, looks best with a clear lens.
