I usually get a little less than 4 quarts out when I drain. It will save you a lot of grief. You will see start it after the 2 quarts. And this will help checking. Moderator Posts: 12515 Re:oil using s.o.b. 2 Years ago   You CAN'T trust the dipstick. Forget it and do 4 quarts when you change the filter and drain the crankcase and tank. Add two quarts to the tank and then put the dipstick in and start and run for a few seconds then add the other two quarts.
