Well theres alot of cleaners out there...Some people like to use whats handy that they have lying around, but some of it will leave lines or tarnish aluminum without an imediate power rinse, and then even it may still leave streaks. Things like 'Purple Stuff' from the auto parts cleans pretty good, but thats where I first encountered the streaking on aluminum, and it will deffinatly take polished aluminum back to foggy looking.

What I'm going to try is houshold white vinegar. I know it cleans wire terminals on the wiring harness outstanding, and I'v often employed it for just that purpose, but knowing how squeaky clean it does stuff, I'm going to try it on the wheels and spokes. As one poster mentioned about the 'thin' finishes on the spokes themselves, I want to avoid abrasives on them. I'll let you all know how it works very soon, I'll go ahead and Guinea pig it.

My wife cleans everything with vinegar...amazing stuff

I use Eagle 1 wire spoke cleaner. Just spray and rinse dont even have to dry.
