You didn't lie she misunderstood. And I'm sticking with that. But YOUR GONNA GET IN TROUBLE. I think we have all been there before. and once you have it you can't send it back Look at my bike I wasn't gonna buy any of that stuff. The bike was perfect when I got it.

Tricky Air has a good set up.
but it is a little pricy.
if you know how to remove the shock and can wire a stereo you can do it yourself.

price aroud $1000

I have a Tricky Air Ride and several other here on the clinic has it to. I don't know about the best one I have only owned the Tricky. I have has the progressive shock and spring setup, the progressive spring on the OEM shock, and the Barons lowering kit (link). The Tricky has a lot of good feature and isn't to bad to install. Any air shock you are looking at $800 to $1000 so they arn't cheap. A word of caution they do change the way your bike rides and performs. I crashed and totaled my 05 a few months after installing mine. Depending on the road conditions you need to fine tune them and be very careful. Yes I still have it on my 05 but my 07 is stock and will stay that way.

Curt:

All due respect. You're not actually saying the air suspension contributed to your accident, are you?
"I came over a small bump and hit a spot in the road and it threw the front wheel towards the shoulder in a curve".

Modifications to the front suspension are much more suspect than a simple rear shock when it comes to handling issues.

We're all very glad you're ok. But, personally, I wouldn't blame the mods. Or, scare anybody out of doing them because of your accident. And, aren't you like 90?

Again, all due respect.

I also have the Tricky Air ride... I use to have the Barons air ride, but sold that to my brother when I wanted to "upgrade"... the Tricky Air Ride is superior to others by far... it is fully adjustable in ride firmness and height... as well as having the adjustability to lower your bike fast or slow or anywhere in between... the only type of air ride that i personally have not tried is the one from street boutique... they have an actual air bag and it retains the factory shock but without the spring... which also is a way of controlling rebound...

This is my opinion... the only way you will know if you like it or not, is to try it... if you dont like it, then dont get it... if you have to buy it first, then buy and try it... you can always resell it later...

The Barons ran about $1000
The Tricky Air Ride and Street Boutique runs about $850 without any of the "extras"

I'm with Curt on the air ride. I've notice a slight instability if yoo're running at partial fill. At first I thought I was imagining things but I've been paying careful attention when I'm riding and at what height.

The most stabile ride occurs when the shock if fully loaded + some. If you ride at half height the ride is soft .. OK for in town but way to mushy and unstable on the highway.

I also have not noticed any ill handling from the air ride. Alot of the bouncingness or poor characteristics come from the amount of air your running in the shock and where the rebound is set at.

Re:air shock 2 Years ago
I agree but if you want to run at lower than full height then you have to run at lower pressure which in turns results in the 'bounciness' and poor ride.
