I narrowed it down to Longshots and Powershots and I just installed a set of Powershots and I'm glad I picked the "quieter" of the two.
They are
much louder than I expected them to be. The sound fine at idle and sound as loud as I expected them to be at
WOT but I don't know how much I (or my ears) am going to like the sound they make at cruising speed.
I've got the quietest helmet on the market and I still get a headache and my right ear rings if I don't ear earplugs, and I don't like wearing earplugs.
Every person on the street turns to see what's making all the racket when I drive by and I've been pulling in the clutch and idling by the cops.
I don't want to take them off but I'm seriously looking into what I can do to take the edge off them a bit. I looked at the Quiet Baffles but they're only available in 2 inch and the Powershots are 2.5 inches.
I thought about trying them anyway and wrapping more fiberglass around them until they're snug in the pipe but I'm concerned it would just get blown out.
I also looked at putting some homemade Thunder Monsters in front of the Powershot baffle.
Any ideas on how to make them just a bit quieter?
