V Star 1 Year, 11 Months ago
I know this is a Road Star forum, but i also have a V Star 1100 Custom that broke a small gear in the final drive. Just wondering if anyone knows another solution besides buying the whole assembly ($600+labor) for this one part. Just so happens that it's the only part without a part number and it's the one i need.

I appears that it is only sold as an assembly. I checked South Seattle sports and found it for $538 pt # SEL46101. It should come assembled and you can install yourself fairly easy and save on the labor. The one you have marked is a pinion gear and would never be sold seperatly even in a car you have to buy the pinion gear and the ring gear as a matched set. and then they are a real PIA to set up properly.

Find a used one one e-bay or craigs list. Check the part numbers for the 650 it may be the same as the 1100 and I know there is one for a 650 listed on e-bay.
