Installed Dyna 3000 Axiliary Circuit is Dead 1 Year, 11 Months ago
It is a 2007 Midnight. The power to the auxiliary connector is dead.Have read the post that this has happened with the 2005. I have read the post by MS1700 also. Is there any way to get power back to that connector without having to add a switch? As I will never remember to turn it off every time.

The aux connector should be fused and hot when the key is turned. If it's not working, I would have to assume the fuse is blown.

This is off of the Dyna website. Looks like you'll need to install a switch.

Will the Dyna 3000 work on my 2005 and later Roadstar?
There is an issue with the 2005 and later model Roadstar equipped with the auxiliary driving lights/passing lamps (eg; Silverado). When the Dyna 3000 is installed this light circuit is disabled. There is a relay that is controlled by the ignition control module that operates these lights. If you wish to use the Dyna 3000 on a 2005 model Roadstar with this lighting setup you will need to install a switch on one of the wires from the ignition module. Remove the white wire form the black stripe from the stock 6 pin connector. Connect this wire to one terminal on your switch and the other switch terminal to a good ground point like the frame, engine cases or battery negative post. Do not turn the switch on until the engine is started.
Other than this lighting issue the D3K7-3 will operate perfectly on the 2005 and later model Roadstar.

Or, you could just tap it to the blue wire in the rear fender light harness. It goes hot when the key is turned, too.

They also make taps that you can insert into the fuse block to run an aux wire off of. Just pick one with a high amp fuse.

Where do I get the "taps"? Would I also need a relay?

If its the aux circut the runs the passing lamps that's dead then you might have recived an a new but older generation dyna 3000 ign box that you had to do wiring mods on to get the passing lamp/aux light to work with.

It was either 03 or 04 & newer R* that this is an issue with when it comes to the older not revised dyna 3000 ign boxes that were from that i understand revised in mid to late 2009 so there can be older but still new non revised ign boxes still out there.

If this seems to be your problem there is a simple wiring mod fix thats avail from dyna to fix it so go to thier website to get their tech phone # & call them for help.

I believe if you look hard enough you can find that wiring mod someplace on their site .

Update:heres something i had saved on that issue i mentioned above.

Dynatek D3K73, Dyna 3000 Ignition System for RoadStar 1600/1700

Note, Will NOT work with 05+ models with factory installed driving lamps. Custom wiring will need to be done, see Dynateks website for more information.

autozone has them - they plug into fuse slot and the original fuse sits in the adapter

the more nicer ones look like this
http://www.focuztech.com/hella-add-a-circuit-tap-system-with-blade-fuse.html

there are some where its a bare peice of metal bent around the fuse.

Scottw, you were right, the unit was "new" but of old stock. I contacted Dynatek, they solved the problem and are sending me a new unit. There is a seven digit number on the right, below the switches.
If that number is 1101140... then it is old stock and you have to do some wiring or switches. Mine was still under warranty. They pay the return shipping.

Slothy, great tip. Jamie99 & Tampa thank you for the help also.
