My beloved wife and I have 5 kids and 5 grandkids between us (literally, at times).

I'm surprised you have time to go to the bathroom never mind riding.

I have only 2 kids and I'm finding it hard to get away.

I hear you, Doc! My two munchkins keep me plenty busy too.

Welcome, Jason & Ed! Lotsa good folks & info here. Because of this site, my bike never has been and (knock on wood) never will be worked on by anyone other than me. Unless I decide to REALLY get into the engine...then they can fix it...

My Name is Chris and I live in Gardner, Ks., a southern suburb of Kansas City Metro. I live in the country but not off the blacktop. My wife and I are coming up on 30 years of marriage and have 3 kids 25, 12, and 7(wanted them close together). and 2 grandchildren 7 & 3 . I've been riding since I was 10 and have had at least one two-wheeler at all times. At some point I had 5 running and a couple of projects. I have been faithful to the YamaHammers. I strayed once to save a Suzuki RM 100, but once I got it running I sold it. I've spent most of my time on the dirt bikes but as I aged I would spend it on the street. My wife and I owned the Specials in the '70s. I had and 1100 and she the 650. I put over 60,000 miles on that thing driving from Ottawa to KC for 3 solid years. Never missed a day, rain , wind, hail, snow or ice, and 1 tornado. I don't know how I survived. I traded that bike for a boat and a YZ when I moved to Texas in the mid '80s. I started looking again when the Royal Star came out and eyeballed the Excelsior and the Victory before coming across the MM Limited and went right in a plopped the cash down for that baby.Picked up a 2003 650 V Star for the wife and we both continue to ride when we can. I found the site when looking for tires and any tricks in changing them. While I had the rear tire off used the Fat boy way of lowering my Star but haven't yet got to ride. We've had 10 inches of rain in the last week.

Post edited by: MMLimited, at: 2007/06/29 14:44

Welcome to the Clinic Chris.

Thanks for the intro. Wife and I are also 30 this year.

As I live in Ottawa, what's the Ottawa - KC connection? Inquiring minds want to know.

I grew up in the town of Ottawa, Ks. population 12,500 (now 15,000).It's located about 60 miles SW of KC. When I was a teen I worked a gas station there and had a woman from Ottawa, Canada stop in and visited with me for awhile. She said she was on a road trip and stopping at all the Ottawas across the continent. She had just came from Ottawa, Illinois. Sounds like a good road trip for you. Anyway...Ottawa,KS was named after the Indians that were placed here when Kansas was a reserve. So I understand, so I've been told.
