justin,i see your replacing the cam & lifters and in case you weren't aware you need to use some grey type moly paste assembly lube on the cam lobes and bottoms of liftes fpr breakin.
You also need to use oil on sides of the lifters and no grey assemblylube there.
You should also run a bike specific oil that generally has a decent zddp/zinc & phos lvl thats also required for breakin and post breakin too for onging protection when runnng a FT cam & lifters like are in the R* motor.
When you fire up the motor be in a position to either ride it (with no idle time) for a min of 20 mins or if you can't ride it set idle speed to at least 1600
rpm & taking it up to 2k
rpms at times too for 15-20 mins to breakin the new FT cams/lifters before dropping it back to the normal rec 900 rpm idle.
So in the case of doing breakin sitting still you must run at least 2 20" box fans on hi speed facing the motor from the front (1 fan on eash side of the front forks facing the motor) to ensure the motor doesnt overheat sitting still for breakin of cams/lifters.
Post new cam/lifter breakin you should change oil & filter again with motor still hot to remove/drain all the assembly lube and metal particles from the carnkcase oil that were generated when the new cams/lifters were breaking into eachother .
Yes thats a pia and a little costly to do the post breakin oil & filter change but thats the right way to do it when breaking in FT cams/lifters.
Good luck.
