Starting Troubles 1 Year, 11 Months ago
Long story short when I go to start my bike I turn the key let the odometer dial and gas gauge cycle then hit the starter. Bike barely does a crank then my led display goes out clock resets to 1:00 dials again cycle hit starter again and she fires up no problem. I can ride the bike all day then.

This is a less than one year old battery in the bike. I replaced it last year when this first occured. Ran the bike with the new battery last year and first few months of the riding season with no problems starting until now.

My Roadstar is a 2005 with only 4300 miles on it. Any help is appreciated.

Mike

I had a bad cable from the battery to the starter.
The cables ohm out fine however under load or when trying to start it would arc to chassis. It would crank maybe once and very slow.

My 05 did the same thing. Two batteries later and a warrior starter and warrior relay and #4 wires it cranks just great.

Same setup here and no complaints.

Curt

Do you happen to know the part numbers for the starter and relay you used?

Thanks for the good information. The only other question I have is could it possibly be my HC solenoid? I had heard if that is going bad it will not open the valves properly and not allow the bike to fully crank either.

Thanks

Mike
