Throttle Cable Removal 1 Year, 11 Months ago
Haven't needed to post much since joining BUT as with all good things, it has ended. I decided to lube my throttle cables and discovered that I can NOT seem to get them out of the housing---I have the adjusters shortened allowing for maximum slack but there is still not enough ( actually there is very little slack) to rotate the cable to allow the end to be removed from the throttle housing??????????
My bike does have 4" risers and the cable do seem rather snug???????
Any help would be much appreciated---

You need to loosen it from the carb side then.

Edit: Actually do you have the 2 screws out of the housing so the throttle assembly can slide out?

Both screws are out of the housing, the housing has been separated ( as much as possible)

Pull cable has a small piece that holds it to housing, give that cable as much slack as ya can, then it just hook in to throttle slot, bottom cable too just turn the throttle till there's enough slack to rotate the cable to line up with slot tp pull out as well

Turn the handle bars to the right A lot of guys have the bars turned left becuase it is easier to work on the throttle side that way, but it tightens the cables to their max when turned to the left. If that is not the issue loosen the cables at the carb end for more slack.
