Hello Everyone--Hope I'm in the right place, first time here. Here's my problem-04 R/S, v&amp;h pro-pipe with comp.bafel, ported man., ais removed, maxair filter, barons jet kit and dyna 3000 @34a. Have played with jetting for 2-3 days and bike runs great with 37.5 pilot, 172.5 main and 4th clip. Starts with little to no choke and idles great cold or hot but-NO PMS ADJUSTMENT in or out. I've even gone as far as putting a new stock pms screw with new spring and washer. My mpg is 42 so I don't know if I shouldn't worry and just ride or is it something that needs to be addressed. IT sounds like your Pilot is a little oversized. When it is the right size, the bike will stumble a when it is acrewed all the way in.

This is more pronounced on the 03 and earlier, the 04's are a lot more efficient at low RPMs (the mix is more stable).

IF you are getting 42 mpg, I don't know if I would worry too much about this. IF you wanted to try it, you could put a #35 pilot back in and see how it did.

IF you decide to keep the #37, be sure to use a bottle of techron in a full tank, run all the way to empty before every other oil change. It will help to keep the carbon from building up on the valves.

BTW... Do the techron run out in one ride or run. Don't leave it in your tank (at least not this rich) for very long.

Thanks for the reply Gram-the only reason i have the 37.5 in there was to try something different to see if I could get a response on the pms. I had tried several combinations with the 35 and could't get any response with the pms.<br><br>Post edited by: dieseldoctor247, at: 2005/08/25 22:08

If you couldn't get any response with the 35, then you might actually be a little rich on the needle. Thats hard to believe with it on the 4th clip, but that
(or oversized main) are just about the only thing that can cause the pms not to make the bike stumble when its screwed in.

Once again , not sure I would worry much about it at 42 mpg. Thats not a bad fuel range.
