factory seat 1 Year, 11 Months ago
does anyone have any pics of the underneith of a factory front and rear seat? i have a mustang seat that came with the bike so ive never seen the factory one. i have bad back problems and really need to get a drivers backrest. ive been looking on e-bay at some and they all say they fit factory seats. was wanting to see if factory seat was that different from the mustang since they look so much alike on outside. or if they are a little different, mabey i can fab. something to make it fit. i really hate to have to sell mine and put out all that money to get a new seat with backrest. thanks.

One difference is that the mustang seat front and rear are bolted together and you must remove the rear bolt on the fender to remove the seat. The OEM seats are individual seats. The driver seat can be removed just by turning the key (no bolt to remove). And there is a gap between front and rear seats. That is where the backrest fits.

I was checking out the mustang seats and it appears you need to purchase the seat with the back rest to have one.

Do you want to be able to quickly pull the backrest, or are you leaving it on? I made a backrest mount for my Mustang seat, but it won't work if you use the passenger seat and it isn't a quick disconnect.
