bike wont start 1 Year, 11 Months ago
I rode last Sunday for about 50 miles. Parked it no problems. When I tried to crank it up on Wednesday all it would do is turn over. I put in fresh gas and changed the plugs. It is firing. Any suggestions?

I turn my gas off every night. Check the petcock, also when you turn it on, do you hear the fuel pump? It's the clicking noise you SHOULD hear. Two things I really don't like doing. . .troubleshooting fuel problems and electrical problems.

Good Luck

It depends on if there's enough fuel in the float bowl already, then it won't click. But if your bike has sat for a while, then it should click either a little or a lot.

Depends on if the pump senses a low pressure condition...which is usually the case if the bike has sat for a few hours and the gas in the bowl has evaporated a little...

yea like Papatom said....he's got faster fingers...

Need 4 things, gas, spark and air and exhaust. Has to be one of them, and if you have spark, your down to the gas or air exhaust.

i put 12 volts straight to the pump and it took off. when i covered up the hole it would stop when it built up pressure but it would not start back up again by removing my finger. i had to remove the voltage then reapply it for the pump to start back up. im not sure if its gonna be the relay or pump...any suggestions?

called my dealer to get a price on a fuel pump and he told me they had never seen a fuel pump go out

That's because we all hate taking our bikes to them, an fix them ourselves.

Pull the fuel line off at the carb. Put the end of it in a jar or bottle, turn the ignition on for a couple seconds and see if it pumps fuel. If it don't, check for power to the fuel pump. If you have power at the pump then the pump is bad. If no power check for a bad fuel relay/fuse.
