As to the dealer I had a corp. eng ccome out and they lowered the float in my card and it seams to have worked fine. It was 105 wit a heat index of 113 las weekend and had no problems. They said by doing so the float cant sink as far when the ethonal get hot their for it does not over flow the carb. I got Yahama to pay for this as well as they know it is a common problem and even sent a factory rep out to do mine.
Thats good but since they adj float for less fuel in bowl see what happens when you run it hard to rev
lmiter from 1st thru 3rd gear @ WOT
(maybe even into 4th gear) to see if float bowl/carb runs dry on fuel with float lvl set for less fuel in the bowl with full load of WOT/top rpm
which may or may not happen.
What happens is the ethenoled fuel boils at lower temps and thats when fuel come spewing out of the carb even with the ign
off without fuel pump pressure pushing the fuel out of the carb, its the boiling ethenoled fuel that in temp gas state over pressurizes fuel system forcing fouel pout past needle and seat,it's not the float dropping just because fuel has ethenol it,the dang Yami
tech/engineers still dont really know wjhats going on/LOL!!!!
Adj float lvl to make for less fuel stored in float bowl does work but is a baindaid fixfor the real issues which is a total overheated carb/fuel system boiling fuel out of the carb esp with 10% ethnol or winter b lend fuel both of which have lower boiling temp then non ethenoled or summer blend fuel but adj for less fuel in carb will in some cases result in carb/float bowl running dry with agressive riding or modified bike with ported intaek/BAK
So now with float adj for less fuel in carb there isnt enough fuel in carb to overflow float bowl/carb thren up & out the upper carb vent and thats why no more carb puke all over the place.
