Thanks for the link Silver Fox!I didn't realize there were so many capacitors Erb Man.I haven't tried any other tests other than checking voltage output with the motor running and it seemed to charge okay. Then I tied to check to see if there was a drain when the bike was shut off.I'll get the battery tested and start from there.

I tested amp. draw and found .12 amps.I figured that might be the clock and trip meters. So I bought a new battery yesterday.I just put it on the charger this morning I'll put it in today and see what happens.I'll keep you posted and check to see if it isn't over charging.

If I've got my decimals right it seems to me that .12 amps is quite a big draw. Key off draw is usually measured in milliamps - say 20 or so = .020 amp.

To check it properly you have to connect your test leads while the battery cables are connected then measure the draw when you disconnect the battery cable.

Thanks Texas, what I did was disconnect the positive battery terminal form the battery and connected 1 lead to the battery and the other to the battery cable.Any way I put the new battery in and ran it for a while the parked it for a day and the bike started right up.It used to turn over real slow the first time after sitting for a day.Now it turns over real strong when it's cold.Everything seems to be good.thanks for the input everybody!I will try what you said though Scott just to make sure.
