Rich We have to many more days like today and he may be looking for a new home, this chewing stuff up has got to stop. You'll have to reinforce that you will be back. Tell him you're leaving and will be back.Leave for a few minutes, and praise him if he didn't chew up anything while you were out. Extend the time away over a period of time (couple of weeks). That should cure the problem. My Lab used to do that to anything that I touched when I left. The living room looked liked it snowed inside when he tore up any and all papers, magazines, books he could find.
